OKLAHOMA CITY – A Muslim teenager claims in a federal lawsuit that she was denied a job at an Abercrombie & Fitch clothing store at a Tulsa mall because she wore a head scarf.

In the lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tulsa by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 17-year-old Samantha Elauf said she applied for a sales position at the Abercrombie Kids store in the Woodland Hills Mall in June 2008. The teen, who wears a hijab in accordance with her religious beliefs, claims the manager told her the head scarf violates the store’s “Look Policy.”

“These actions constitute discrimination against Ms. Elauf on the basis of religion,” the lawsuit states.

A spokeswoman for the New Albany, Ohio-based retailer declined to comment on the lawsuit but said the company has “a strong equal employment opportunity policy, and we accommodate religious beliefs and practices when possible.”

An attorney for the EEOC claims the company violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects workers from discrimination based upon religion in hiring. The EEOC said the lawsuit was filed after the agency attempted to reach a voluntary settlement.

So I found out that I can get a work permit and a job in oklahoma at age 14. So i’m gonna try to get a work permit asap. I started thinking about jobs.

Tom Brady’s last game as a wolverine and he won it on a thrilling fashion.
I would have put Texas vs. USC game, but I have never watched that game because it was on so late.

Lower tier
Indepdence Bowl: Missippi State v. Texas A&M
This one of my favorite football games of all time. The final score was something like 43-42 and on top of that it there was a blizzard during the game. It was awesome.
Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs. Florida
I am a huge Michigan fans and another reason why I picked it was Michigan was a 22 pt. underdog and Carr got to leave on a very good note..

Resolved Question: dream about a dead friend?
So Im at my church or what appears to be my church on the outside, but inside is like a flea market or something. There is a huge ( I’m not racist by anymeans here just stating whats in my dream) african american guy on the pulpit but he is almost deamon like (also note i grew up in a small town in oklahoma, no african americans in my hometown) I keep walking around and the only thing im interested in looking at is jewelry, but there is only really odd and stange jewelry at this place (almost has an eerie feeling to it) then a friend of a friend runs in and tells me that someone has hit my truck. When I go outside to look, my dead friend is driving the car and he has this blank (zombie like) look on his face but he doens’t get out of the car. The two other guys (who i can’t identify) get out and start chasing people or just running around in general. We are in my church parking lot and it seems as if it is total chaos. people running around and shouting, something catches fire and people are trying to put it out. but my dead friend just sits in the car he rearended my truck in and stares at me.
I was close to this friend but not “close” close. He was a few years younger than me. When i got pregnant, i hadn’t talked to this friend in a long time and had kinda forgotten about him and ended up naming my kid the same name as him just different spelling by pure accident. don’t know if that has any significance or not but might be helpful.
My friend died almost two years ago…. so it has been a while and i have never dreamed about him before

Resolved Question: Why do some people consider the World Wide Church of God to be a cult?
I know they used to believe during the 1980’s that Europeans were the 12 tribes of Israel. That is Christian Identity, which is no different than the klan’s view on Christianity. But I haven’t gone to that church since I was a boy. My grandpa went to that church, but he has been gone for 10 years. I know that the World Wide Church of God elected some man to be the leader who was of non white heritage. I believe he might have been Turkish. I remember that they changed a lot of their views. They no longer made women wear dresses (as far as I know), and they might have allowed their members to eat pork.

Please update me on this church? I remember they even started to do missionary work in Africa, which wasn’t something that Pastor Armstrong would have been interested in. I remember the head of the church died in 1985, and that his son Garner Ted Armstrong had been kicked out of the church years earlier.

Please update me on their views now a days. I used to go with my grandpa to the Feast of Tabernacles. It was really boring for me though. It was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and we had to go to church all day long. I know the women also were not allowed to wear make up, but they wore a lot of jewelry.

How has this church changed? I typed in the word cult, and they came up as the third website. I don’t consider them a cult, just a fundamentalist church who believes a lot of the old testament along with the new testament. They seemed rather harmless. They wouldn’t be a church I would attend though. It was a time I could spend with my grandpa when I was little. I would go to church with him on saturdays. Then I would go to church with my mom on sunday mornings, sunday evenings and wed evenings. So I attended a lot of church when I was little.

Right now I go to a local Lutheran church rarely on a sunday morning. Before I was Baptist and Nazarene.
Well the answer of “all religions are cults” is to easy. I want to know what has been going on with the World Wide Church of God.

and job because she got bailed out on a misdemeanor in tulsa Oklahoma and the bondsman got a bad check from her boyfriend and is now going to inform the court that she is in violation. she has no one to care for the kids and will lose her job at walmart She has no money and no car she has no jewelry and asked me if I could help. I called the jw hall in tulsa and am waiting for an answer she says there is no mormon church there and she needs help. I told her all i can do is ask the brothers to see if they could watch her kids or help with bail. what would you do?
she contacted me through facebook i do not know her but looked up tulsa there is lds six of them if she is telling the truth the lds will help i called my friends there too and she cannot scam them
it is questionable whether they will help but you never know and well she lives in claremore and she seems to be telling the truth because it is not tulsa the bonds man says he wont take her crappy car he wants cash now!!I thought someone might be willing to watch hers little ones they are i think she said 8 and 13 she does not want to lose them and has few friends.
claremore is like very small she is not kidding tulsa was just the nearest city and its huge but not close she has no phone and she needs help i see her facebook she is nice and not trying to scam

I offered to write to her in jail and will call the baptists to see if there is mony They will not let her scam them also sending jws to visit but writing to her in jail will be the only real help i can offer if she was scamming that won’t happen so off I go thanks for your ideas
